Hidden Doggerland underworld uncovered in North Sea

A huge area of land which was swallowed up into the North Sea thousands of years ago has been recreated and put on display by scientists.

5th comment down: "This area has been known about for years. Trawlers regularly drag up mammoth and other animal bones. And no tsunami, thanks. That was what filled the English Channel. Please do your research. As for the "what it looked like" pictures....dear oh dear. And to global warming enthusiasts - no, nothing to do with that. Merely roll-back from the last Ice Age (which was the most recent of many)."

There is evidence of a massive tsunami that hit the north east of the UK 6,000 years ago - I believe it was a mention of that? And yes the place has been known about but, the point is that it has now been studied.

The tsunami is what filled the channel though, a simple wave (albeit a large one) would not forever sink the land-bridges, the water would have ran off as part-time rivers etc, and would have returned to being land within a couple of years or so. (The channel is deeper than those ares of 'doggerland', so would have been filled by that tsunami.
