Yaxley
I am planning a trip to Yaxley sometime soon. Anyone got any tips in what to find/where to look?

A sieve can be a nice way to hunt there. worth getting a hand full from below the waterline and sieving through... but ground is full of stuff, mainly gryphea some very large - some nice pyritised ammonites to be found on the shoreline. I never come back with much only because I have similar examples of most the material but it is a nice relaxing place. I have seen marine reptile out of there including a very large ichthyosaur vert but allas they were not my finds.
you should head here (red box) I have walked quite some way around the site but this appears to be the best exposure. Let me know how you get on.

Just the lower jaw I think, but it's two feet long, I've seen some awesome pics of it! He rescued it from being hit by a digger!

Re: Yaxley
The nature reserve is no longer a working quarry, did he find it prior to it becoming a nature reserve and resivoir or could it be from another quarry in the yaxely area?

Harder to find fossils there when the water levels are higher

Had a great trip, could not find the location at first, spent an hour walking around to find it, but when there, found loads of stuff. Uploading the pics shortly.

I am sure you will find your own crinoid stem some day, you have plenty of collecting time in front of you.ermaster wrote:that starfish is perfect i want it
