    Time to show you some of the fossil fish bones/scales I have found in Cretaceous chalk.

    Where is that big scale from? And what is it from?

    It is from an unknown fish. All come from trips to Bedfordshire. 70 - 90 myo.

    Thanks, chalk fish are hard to prepare, so not much can be done. I normally just take some matrix off.

    After more looking through papers, I believe that scale belongs to Pomognathus.
