    Thanks for the extra pics druss, they confirm my id as given above.

     One more thing from Aust My230010


    Image of a complete one found in Italy, about 1m long.
    It had two types of teeth, incisor like ones at the front for snipping shellfish etc off of the rocks and rows of the round (ish) ones for crushing. Think Lepidotes.

    Couldn't it be one of the bones in the ear? Is the bone quite dense?
