    Aust Finds Empty Aust Finds

Post  Guest Mon Feb 20, 2012 9:38 pm

These I collected from Aust on the river Severn in November. They appear to be a plesiosaur vertiberry and a plesiosaur humerus both of good size!

Thankyou! I have been told that pic 2 is a fin spine (I cant remember the correct species lol) pic 3 is Rostropremaxillary from a Severnichthys.
and many of the teeth are from the Severnichthys although
I need to take some better pics of the teeth to help get a better ID.
Im not sure about the tooth in Pic 1...I am learning all I can at the mo Smile

Another Aust find which I understand is one of the four cusps on a lung fish tooth plate that has a piece of jaw bone attached to it.

    Lovely detail on the bone.
Craig has exactly the same as what you have on pic 1. When he gets online he may know what it is... I think he ID'd it but canny remember what he said.

    Thankyou both of you,

I have an ID on some of the pics from my friend:

A partial plesi tooth in Pic 1

The rib looks like a belly rib (gastralia) from a Pachystropheus.

The fin spine is Nemacanthus monilifer.

I have found pic of craigs teeth, actually quite different to yours - I thought they were plesiosaur initially but then they were very very small and alas they are not. about 2mm I believe.
