Re: Cotswolds advice
hey I'm in the Cotswold if you want ill come alone with you
The thing is there is no clear fossil band its not crinoidal limestone, Neither is it bryozoan limestone.
It seems to be Grain limestone (Oolitic and Pisolitic limestone) so more of a mix of fossils can be found.
Expect to find many bivalves! The thing is you don't have to go to any specific sites fossils are so commonly found
all over that a walk in a farmer field will be productive! But where are you planning on going in the Cotswold's
as Most of it is the great Oolite group but if your going towards Stroud way it turns more into the Inferior Oolite
group. There is the main places to go Such as the Cotswold water park and quarries but I my self haven't been able
to go there and it costs a bit to go. So all well and said go for a few walks through fields and on the hills as where ever
there is an outcrop of rock in the Cotswold's there is a high chance for fossils
If you need any more help just ask I have lived and hunted in the Cotswold's 5 years now

Re: Cotswolds advice
yea sure that's about 45 minutes from Cirencester
You are a close to the top of the Cotswold so the local geology there is very mixed. There should be a even bigger mixture of fossils around there. Sadly I'm more used to the great Oolite group where as Broadway Seems to be more of the lower Jurassic stones and inferior Oolite group. I don't know many fossil sites around Broadway sadly. I hope the other the other information helps you a bit.

Re: Cotswolds advice
Damn happens to be while I'm at school sorry mate :/
any way if you can post some finds here
Oh and I wouldn't suggest going to any abandoned quarry's and searching as they normally yield little in terms of fossils (depends were though)
