Thanks guys.
That's the best of five years collecting, well a week at a time.

Re: Yorkshire Coast finds.
Wow they're great!
Love the 2nd pic as well, is it nautiloid?
And where is the plant specimen from?, one of my friends is doing her dissertation on plant fossils from Yorkshire, Beast Cliff I believe..
Finally, how do you go about polishing your ammonite nodules? I've got some stuff from Morocco and the IOW that I want to get polished but I've not/little idea how!

Re: Yorkshire Coast finds.
The second pic is of a partial nautilus from Saltwick Bay. I'd not normally bring home partials but this is nearly 9" across and I liked the colouring of it.
The ferny type plant thing is from Whitby.
As to polishing I just use ever increasing grades of wet'n'dry and a lot of elbow grease!
Start with a 100 grade to smooth out any rough bits or imperfections and move up to 400, 800,1000 and then 1500 grade to get the last polish.
Tip, always change the water and thoroughly wash the fossil between grades.

Re: Yorkshire Coast finds.
Thanks, but grade of what? A fine pouder with cloth or sandpaper?
Would it be possible for you to post a link to where I can get it?
This is what I want to polish
Edit: Hmm.. not sure why that's so big, usually posting photos from facebook doesn't do that..

Re: Yorkshire Coast finds.
Yep, that's the stuff.
Although it's the same grade in each pack, you can buy mixed grade packs from 100 grade up to 1200 grade.
