Could you send me the links to the PDFs, as I am identifying some Aust fossils?Knochie wrote:sal7373 wrote:These are great Pete, I can use this post as my reference point, thanks for sharing
No probs Sal, having a picture reference is easier than wading through paeleo papers. Although I could send you links to several pdf papers if you want.
Why does that smiley look as though it has a pair of Y-fronts over its face?

Wow! What a lot you have there. I have never really been fond of Aust material, but I think you have changed my mind!

Re: Aust fossil site
A few bits from today.
Found by the wife, trough infill with a small piece of bone showing,
Prepped from the other side.
Piece of plesi rib.
Some idiot went and destroyed a block that was loaded with bone, I managed to salvage some of it and hopefully it will prepp out ok.
All this is smashed bone.
Probably from this piece of plesi limb bone.
Also in the pile was this plesi vert with neural (which the numpty managed to break).

Re: Aust fossil site
Are you dissolving the Severnichthys and other teeth out?- And if so what size sieve did you use? You're missing out on some of the more beautiful ones- the 1-3mm long teeth such as this one, a juvenile tooth where the tip is still a translucent cone! The 'Hybodus' minor teeth go a lot smaller as well. Jealous of the bigger stuff- the only two bigger fossils I got from the trip to Aust were a 1 inch vert and a similarly sized piece of rib...
The Palas guide has the teeth names on
